1.1 SMS and BESS configuration in the UI
Issue: FEC-386 – “SMS and BESS config implementation”
We’ve introduced UI support for configuring SMS (Site Management System) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) so these settings can be managed directly from HARMON-E instead of relying solely on backend or manual configuration.
Key aspects of the new configuration experience include:
• Dedicated configuration sections
Clear separation of SMS and BESS parameters within the site/asset configuration views.
Grouped fields to reflect how operators think about system behavior (communication, limits, safety, etc.).
Grouped fields to reflect how operators think about system behavior (communication, limits, safety, etc.).
• Inline validation and guidance
Input validation on critical fields (e.g., ranges, required fields) to reduce misconfiguration.
Helper texts and labels aligned with domain terminology to make configuration more self-explanatory.
• Improved visibility of operational parameters
Key operational limits and behaviors for SMS and BESS are now visible and editable from the UI.
Config changes are reflected immediately in the relevant views after saving.
User impact:
Operators and engineers can now configure SMS and BESS directly from the UI, reducing the need for manual configuration via backend tools or support. This speeds up commissioning and changes, lowers the risk of configuration errors, and improves transparency of system behavior.
