Product Update Highlights and Full Changelog
Below are the key highlights of our latest product update, designed to enhance usability and address common request.
1. New & Improved Functionality
1.1 Simplified power meter configuration
Issue: FEC-199 – “Use case in power meter config update”
Type: Task
We have streamlined the power meter configuration to better match how users think about use cases:
Single “Use case” selector
Replaces the previous two fields: Use case and Position.
Still maps correctly to backend fields (
useCase,position) to keep API compatibility.
Automatic charging station assignment
The old “Assign to Charging Station” toggle is removed.
When the Charging Station use case is selected, the charging station selector appears automatically and becomes mandatory.
For all other use cases, the charging station selector remains hidden.
Use case mapping (conceptual)
Grid Connection Point → Generic + Indirect
External Load → Generic + Direct
Photovoltaic → PV Production + Direct
Charging Station → DC + Direct
Additional behavior
The “Set to Load Management” toggle is disabled when the use case is Charging Station.
For unknown/legacy combinations, an info text clarifies the current settings and asks the user to update to a known combination.
User impact:
Configuration is clearer and faster. Users no longer have to understand the relationship between multiple technical fields; selecting a use case drives the required options.
1.2 Charge/discharge units aligned to kW
Issue: FEC-206 – “Charge/discharge unit”
Type: Task
The unit for max charge and max discharge rate has been changed from A (amperes) to kW.
This aligns with how other power-related limits are presented in the UI and with how customers reason about system capacity.
User impact:
Users see limits in kW, which is more intuitive and consistent across the application.
2. Bug Fixes
2.1 Password change reliability (local environment)
Issue: FEC-416 – “Password change does not work on local environment.”
Type: Bug
Fixed an issue where password changes were not working in the local environment.
The password change flow now behaves as expected and can be used for local testing and development.
User impact:
Developers and testers using local setups can reliably validate the password change flow.
2.2 Creating new Modbus charging stations
Issue: FEC-439 – “Unable to create new modbus chargers”
Type: Bug
Previously, when adding a new Modbus charging station via Optimise → Charging Stations:
Clicking Save did nothing:
No network request was triggered.
The modal stayed open.
No error messages were displayed.
User impact:
Users can now reliably create new Modbus-connected chargers, not just edit existing ones.
2.3 Scrollable side menu on smaller screens
Issue: FEC-349 – “Side menu is un-scrollable”
Type: Bug
The left-hand navigation menu on the Optimise → Site view did not scroll.
On smaller screens or non-fullscreen windows, lower menu items (e.g., Batteries) became unreachable.
Fix:
Added proper scroll behavior to the sidebar container (e.g., vertical overflow handling).
When the menu content exceeds the viewport height, the menu becomes scrollable.
User impact:
All navigation items remain accessible regardless of screen height, improving usability on laptops, split-screen setups, and smaller displays.
2.4 Grid control history unit mismatch (A vs kW)
Issue: FEC-291 – “Grid management mismatch A and kW on set point”
Type: Bug
Problem:
In Grid Control history:
Absolute setpoints were displayed with unit A.
The same value at the top section showed a (wrong) kW value, causing confusion.
Fix:
Units are now displayed consistently:
Relative setpoints →
%Absolute setpoints →
kW
Internally, values reported in A are converted to W and then to kW, using the standard conversion logic used elsewhere in the UI.
User impact:
Grid control values are now consistent and meaningful, reducing confusion for operators and internal stakeholders.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback. These updates are part of our ongoing effort to improve your experience and ensure our platform meet your needs. We look forward to hear your thoughts!
