This guide describes how to configure the GATEWAY when Internet access is provided by the internal LTE router using a SIM card.
High-level takeaways
- The GATEWAY creates its own Internet connection via LTE.
- You must provide a Mini-SIM (2FF) with an active data plan.
- Configuration consists of: accessing the local interface, entering APN settings, activating the SIM, and verifying LTE connection.
Ensure the physical installation is complete (power supply mounted, wiring done, SIM inserted, antenna connected). If not done yet, please follow the 1. Installation Manual for GATEWAY SIM Setup).
SIM card requirements
- Mini-SIM (2FF), activated with a valid data plan
- APN settings from your mobile network operator
- No SIM lock, PUK lock, or device restriction
What you need for configuration
- A laptop with an Ethernet port
- An Ethernet cable (CAT5e or higher)
- A modern browser (Chrome recommended)
- No other DHCP server active in the temporary setup
1. Connect your laptop
Connect the laptop either directly to the GATEWAY’s LAN port or through the local switch used during installation.
2. Access the GATEWAY
Open your browser and enter:
192.168.1.1:3000
Your laptop must be in the 192.168.1.x subnet. If needed, assign an IP manually (e.g. 192.168.1.10).
3. Log in
Use the default credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
For production sites, FLEXECHARGE recommends changing the default admin password after installation.
4. Configure the mobile network (APN settings)
Open the Wireless Network tab in the left-hand menu.
Enter a SIM PIN only if your mobile operator requires PIN verification. If the SIM does not require a PIN, leave this field empty.
Enter the SIM card parameters:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| APN | Mandatory. Provided by the mobile operator. |
| Username | Only needed if your operator requires it. |
| Password | Leave empty unless provided by operator. |
| SIM PIN | Optional. Required only for PIN-protected SIM cards. |
Click SUBMIT to save.
5. Reboot the GATEWAY
Disconnect power for 10 seconds, then power the device back on.
The GATEWAY will automatically attempt to register on the LTE network using your APN settings.
6. Verify network connection (LED indicators)
After reboot and initialization (≈5 seconds), check the GSM LED:
| GSM Status LED | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Slow blinking (short ON / long OFF) | Searching for network |
| Slow blinking (long ON / short OFF) | Registered, but no data session |
| Fast blinking (short ON / short OFF) | Connected to LTE with active data |
Next steps
Once connected to the Internet, the GATEWAY automatically registers with your HARMON-E account.
You can now configure your charging hub and load management.
Additional Notes
Record the final settings for future reference:
